Hi ! I'm Julien
And I made Laser Pong.
Laser pong is a small arcarde alternative controller game. The name is a misnomer as it doesn't not involve laser and instead only feature a line of led and 2 buttons.
In Laser Pong, two player face off by sending a ball of pixel to the other side. When the ball is in their area, they can press the button to send it back. The longer they wait the faster the ball will be sent back. The game end when one the ball cross a player area entirely. The game also speed up overtime. To start a new game, players have to press the two buttons at the same time.
The game run on a USB-C plug which can be from a wall charger or a power bank. It run on as Pimoroni Plasma board. I picked this one because it's specifically designed to controls addressable WS2812 leds and more importantly because I already had one. I'm using a 1m, 60 leds, WS2812b strip for the display and standard button. My brother helped me by preparing the piece of wood and the rest of the hardware was 3D printed.
In futur version, I want to make the support bigger so I could hide the battery inside. I also want to add sound. Finally I think it could be possible to make different game variante using the same hardware.
